Diet Coke: Fairwell, my friend (?)

I am giving up Diet coke. Ok, I am trying to give up Diet Coke.

This is very hard. I have no idea why, but it is. You would think that I could do this, right? I gave up cigarettes cold turkey. So, this should be a breeze ...right? So why do I feel like I'm having withdrawels - nervousness, shakiness, moody (some would argue nothing new there), these cravings are killer. God help me if I ever someday become pregnant.

It's not like I drink a 12 pack a day. I usually average one a day.

So why is Diet Coke bad? I was curious and did a little research. Apparently, not only is it bad for your teeth, but it's also bad when trying to lose weight. Apparently it triggers something in the body to think that you need more sweets and need to eat. Makes sense. I can't JUST drink a diet coke by itself. I have to have a snack or sweet with it. Something to ponder. And the chemicals consumed cannot be good. But here's the worst part, at least for me as a woman. Apparently it eats away at the calcium in your body. That is definitely not a good thing.

I'll write an update in a few weeks about the state of the DC situation.

Next vice to conquer: Equal. *shiver*

Fall has arrived...THANK GOD

Seriously, I cannot take anymore summer heat. I usually like summer a lot - so many fun things going on. I usually can deal with the heat and even my always frizzy hair. But this summer, it was just miserable. Day after day of miserable, sweaty, walk-outside-and-immediately-you-break-into-a-sweat. And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, we had 3 solid weeks of blistering over 100 degree days. Lord, are you trying to show us the error of our ways and giving us a sample of hell? Because we get it.

So yesterday, I opened up my back porch to water my mum (yay!! it's mum time!!) and glory hallelujah, was hit in the face with wonderful, blissful, cool crisp Fall air - also known as state fair and football weather. I'm not a big morning person, but it put me in the best mood immediately. I'm sure when winter arrives, I'll be grouchy and cold and ready for spring again. But for now, I'm very content...now on with football season!

My only wish is that this weekend the Gamecocks are not slaughtered by LSU. I'm ok with losing to them (well sort've) but we are going into Death Valley (Sorry you Clemson fans, but this is the REAL Death Valley...or DEAF valley as it was originally called) and they are well-known for having one of the loudest, most intimidating stadiums in college football. I hope Blake doesn't choke under the pressure. This is either going to be a humiliating loss or we could actually hold our own. I have not been overly impressed so far - with LA Layayette and SC State we were sloppy. With Georgia, our defense won the game for us. So it remains to be seen how we play against Tennessee, Florida, etc. But for now....we are 3-0. Go Cocks - Click Clack!
