Oops...
So apparently all this time I've been saying "Sex in the City" and that is way wrong. It's "Sex AND the City." Gosh, I feel like a tool. Woops. :) I saw the movie again tonight though. AH it's SO good. Girls, you will regret it if you don't see it. Regardless of whether or not you watched the series or not. Two thumbs up! (3 if I could!)

It's not you, it's me...
Dear loyal readers (all 4 of you) and lurkers as well,
Here is my situation. I have been going to the same hair dresser for 3 years. She has always done a great job on my hair but recently, I went to another salon.
Yes *gasp* I cheated on my hair dresser.
Why do I feel so guilty? I mean, it's not like we are friends in real life. We don't hang out, we don't talk on the phone. But still, I feel bad.
Not bad enough to go back though. I really like the new salon - I think it's more me. So here's where I need your advice. How do I handle this transition?
Do I:
A) Just never go back and hope I never run into her anywhere.
B) Wait for her to contact me and tell her that I've found someone new.
C) Call her and tell her that I appreciate everything she's done (which it's not like she gave me any big deals) but I am seeing someone else.
Does this seriously not sound like I'm breaking up with someone? Have ya'll ever had at this experience before?
Comments please! (that includes you too anonymous lurker) :) What would you do?

Missing: Weather Pixie
Have you seen my Weather Pixie? She used to be on the left side of my blog and told me what the current temp was outside everyday. When it was hot, she had on a sundress. When it was really hot, she had on a bikini (must be nice). When it was raining, she was wearing boots and a carried an umbrella. Where has she gone? I miss her. *sniff* I hope she comes back soon.

It was a dark and stormy night...
I took this pic from across the river looking towards downtown. Believe it or not, this looks good compared to what it looked like earlier. Don't those look a little like funnel clouds?? Freaky.

Peace
When my grandmother passed away back in February, my co-workers sent us a peace lilly. My mom gave it to me after the funeral and I decided to put it in my office. Well it finally has a bloom. I thought about her a lot today. I still miss her so much.

Choppy McChopperson
My hair dresser got a little scissor happy today. I wanted her to leave a little length on the front, but alas...well see for yourself:

Thankfully, hair grows, right? Right????? Bueller??

I Am a Playlist Junkie
Dear fellow bloggers,
I'll admit it - I'm a playlist junkie. I love to read your blogs and check out your playlists. Sometimes at home I'll sit for hours listening to your music (and sometimes steal your selections for my own playlist - forgive me?) while I'm on my laptop.
It's an addiction. I love music - it feeds my soul (as cliche as that sounds). My playlists get edited almost daily. I play my music til I wear it out. And then it has to go - and something new replaces it.
I know...it's crazy. It's my crazy musical world. Love it.

Experiment - Week 1 (Stay tuned)
So, a friend of mine has been praising the benefits of drinking this special vinegar/cayenne pepper/lime juice conconction. Now, I'm not trying this as a crazy fad diet (ok, maybe just a little) but I am intrigued by the fact that he and 2 of his family members have lost 10 pounds so far doing this - and I REALLY need a kickstart in the weight loss department.
So I bought the ingredients and started taking them this past Friday as an experiment. I'm gonna do it for 30 days and report back. It's incredibly gross tasting, not gonna lie! The vinegar alone makes me wanna gag! You take 2 tbsp in the morning and 2 tbsp in the evening.
Here are the ingredients:
1 tbsp organice apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp organic lime juice
1/8 tsp organic cayenne pepper
The cayenne pepper makes me feel like a dragon after taking this in the mornings! I could just breathe on my candles and they would light right up! I will say that I have noticed a change in my energy levels - I have been waking up earlier and sleeping better. And um...when the train arrives at the station, it's also departing the station on a very timely basis (if you get my drift!)

Even Michael Kors would laugh
I almost forgot to post this jewel!
Ok, some of ya'll know that one of my most prized possessions (materially speaking of course) is my Michael Kors bag I got recently. I'm not a namebrand whore, but I work hard for my money and occasionally like to splurge. Some people buy nice houses and cars....I buy handbags and shoes. Win-win!
So the the other day while visiting my dear friend G, she looked over at my purse sitting up on her kitchen counter and with a puzzled look on her face said "Is that a Mary Kate Olsen purse?" CLASSIC! So funny!

Spinning....again
My life seems to revolve around spinning lately - spin class, spinning around a pole (no, I'm not a stripper - see previous post a few days ago) and now....my new salad spinner! I bought this last weekend at World Market with a gift card from my Mel.
I eat a LOT of salad, and was constantly washing the greens and blotting them dry with paper towels. This got old really fast - so I broke down and got the salad spinner. I tried it out last night for the first time, and it's so awesome! It spins the water right out of your lettuce and they come out freshy and fluffy. It's fun to use to (I'm such a kid at heart.)
Just wanted to pass that along...I like to share when I find something I like. Happy spinning!

Recycling is good for the body too
My WW leader used to say when you lose weight that you had gained (such as my vacation weight gain) you are really just recycling.
So, as of last week I've recycled 2 pounds. I'm trying to be positive because I had gained about 5 pounds from vacation (and oh, let's be honest - I continued to eat bad over Memorial Day weekend) So still have 3 more pounds to recycle to get back what I gained on vacay.
My next goal is to lose an additional 10 pounds by July 16th. That is when I leave for our annual convention in Hilton Head for work. I am up in front of people a lot during this convention - and my mug is shown on stage on the big "live" screen. TERROR. I hate it. But at least it's better than it was a few years ago (aka 30 pounds heavier)
I can do this...

Someone's got a case of the Mondays
*Cue sappy depressing Lifetime movie music* Pause with me for a moment, as I have a "woe is me" moment.
******************************************************************
Have you ever felt like life is flying past you as the speed of light, and you want to slow it down?
I'm having one of those days. I am not sure why - just feel like so many things around me are changing and I can't make it stop. I just wish sometimes I could have my happy go lucky self back - the me in my 20's who was so carefree and happy (regardless of my weight.)
I miss having a million friends that you could call upon at anytime and say "let's have a party!" and they would all come running. Nowadays you have to plan in advance to see when husbands are out of town, what the kids are doing and if someone can get a babysitter. That's not a bad thing, it's just life. It could just as easily have been me. I just miss the old days.
I miss calling up a friend and saying "let's road trip it to Charleston!" and off we'd go.
I miss staying out to the wee morning hours dancing and knowing that the next day after a greasy cheeseburger and a coke, you'd feel just fine.
I miss having my sidekick that I had for years, but that person now has another side kick - a husband.
I know that being single and in your 30s can be fun -- and it is a lot of the time. But I'm still trying to find that balance between "I'd like to meet someone" and "yes I'm a fun fabulous single 30 something year old girl!" I have no clue how to do that. *sigh*

A new "spin" on working out
Earlier this week my friend Mel asking me to come with her to a Grand Opening on Saturday. She had designed the logo for this company and they had invited her and said she could bring a friend. I wasn't sure what kind of business it was, but I just said "yes of course! I'll be there."
I think it was around Friday when I finally decided to check out the website that she had helped design the logo for. It's called Polooza. And yes, it's pole dancing! I've seen this on several television shows and heard about it for a while now. But now, finally, someone is bringing it to the Carolinas.
Of course, many will immediately think "stripper dancing". But let me tell you, it's so much more. The fitness benefits are endless! The studio is very classy and the instructor is gorgeous with an amazing body. She showed us the classroom and there were 3 poles in front of a wall of mirrors. I was intimidated at first, but I cannot tell a lie. By the time we left, I wanted to jump up and take a spin! Anyone who wants to take the classes must go through a one time introductory class.
So I've decided to take the intro class and go from there. She said you'll learn several moves on the pole and at least 2 spins. Wish me luck that I a) don't break the pole and b) dont break anything on my body.
Lord help me! :)

Weight Loss Report Card
Just wanted to take a few minutes and update on the weight loss "sitchyation."
Exercise Grade - B+ Im averaging 4 times a week. This past week I started back strength training again, and was sore for 4 days. (obviously that's an area I gotta keep up) Weekends are a challenge for me - I have to find a way to fit in some exercise this weekend.
Eating Grade - C Some days I do great - other days not so much. Aka for lunch yesterday I had a roast beef sandwich with provolone cheese, potato chips and a yummy fattening dip - oh and don't forget the sweet tea. (I'm Southern, it's a weakness) But last night I followed up with a huge spinach salad with lots of veggies. Dessert was a fat free yogurt parfait. So, ya win some and ya lose some.
Overall progress - moving very slowly. But one thing is for sure, I'm NOT giving up. I want to shed this fat for good. And the only way to do that is to keep going, one foot in front of the other.
The good news, I feel really good about myself and my fitness level right now. I just know I"ll feel even better with 30 more pounds gone.
So, there ya have it. Hopefully, some progress will be made next week.
TGIF and have a good weekend, ya'll!

Blogging Live from my couch...
I'm so excited! And proud...tonight i set up my new laptop and wireless router all by myself. It took a little while, but all in all I did it! Woo! Success!!! At first, I sat on the floor for almost an hour whining because the router cord wasn't connecting to the back of my computer. I tried to get my brother aka the geek squad on the phone, but he wasn't answering. (perhaps on purpose?) Nothing ever works the first time around does it? In any case I'm up and running so lookout! I hope this doesn't feed my internet shopping problem, tee hee.
Is Leo a Carolina Gamecock?
Or does he really just like to wear a hat that says "Cocks" on it? Either way, I'll take it.

(side note: how cute is this last pic of his mom and grandmother???)
Editing note: No, this is not a University of Southern Cal hat. Yes, this is the University of South Carolina logo and hat in all 3 pics.

More retail therapy
I legitimately need a new pair of Nikes. I went online to zappos to see what I could find and I found a pair that looked pretty good, had good reviews, etc. But of COURSE while I was on there, I found these...
I couldn't help myself.
I stimulated the economy
...or at least I did my part. I finally broke down today and bought a laptop. I've been wanting one forever, but couldn't justify it. Well, I've finally had it with my dinosaur Dell and decided today is the day. I am SO excited. I bought it online and had it shipped to the local Best Buy to save on shipping. I'm off to go pick it up. Soon I'll be blogging from my couch. Ah, bliss. Ha Ha!
