We may not be the Peach State, but we actually produce more peaches than any state, second only to CA I believe. To say that we love our peaches is an understatement. Today is our annual Peach Festival - everything peaches! The best peach ice cream you'll ever have in your life. And topped off with a parade and fireworks.
There are a lot of ways to eat a peach, but my personal favorite? Peel. Eat. Wipe juice off your chin.

Happy 4th of July - God Bless our Country and military folks today! You make us proud.
ETA: Please reference Shannon's post from last year for more info on eating peaches! (and a yummy recipe for peach cupcakes.) I think her granddad is a peach farmer; girl knows her peaches!!

10 People's Rambles:
*blink* peaches are peeled? I think I knew that.... *sheepish look*
Girl.... you are just looking more beautiful with each picture! The running is suiting you! :)
I don't think I have ever eaten a peeled peach, are you supposed to peel them? Enjoying your blog more and more!!
Nothing better than a SC peach- we sure are proud of them!!! I love stopping by a peach stand!
I'm sure you've heard about what's going on up in my neck of the woods with the serial killer, right? He killed one of Gaffney's beloved peach farmers, 2 women, a business man, and a teenage girl. It's so scary- this is where I'm from and where my parents still live! Keep Cherokee County in your prayers!
When I think about peaches, I think about the big water tower in Gaffney masquerading as a giant peach in the sky and the peach stands on the sides of the roads. I'm thinking about the people in SC today!
Yes, it's a true tragedy!! I think everyone is in shock right now. I hope they catch this guy soon!
PS yes ladies - peel, peel, peel! No need to eat the fuzz...*shiver*
I love, love, love SC peaches. We go down to the beach near Charleston every summer and I load up at the roadside stands!!
Well I'm a huge sucker for peach cobbler!
Looks like a lot of fun.
Awww! thanks for the shout-out! It was like posting without having to do anything! And yes, my grandaddy did grow peaches back in the day. BTW-Steve's Yankee family doesn't peel!! The shame...
