Organization brought to you by Pinterest

I am always looking for organization ideas for my home. I'll admit though, homes that are TOO organized are just creepy. I like homes that are organized but look lived in. Because that is just real life.

Here are some of my favorites from Pinterest. And come join the fun! My pinterest link is on the left hand side of my blog.

I love pretty laundry rooms. I am in the process of making mine over.

My jewelry is always a hot mess. I have some hangers in my closet but I would LOVE something like this. I wonder where you could find it?

I'll probably never do this, because I'm not crafty. But it is certainly cute!

Cute idea for makeup brushes, since I am always laying mine down and then promptly losing it.

Cute for the kitchen.

I can honestly say my linens closet looks pretty good. But not THIS good...need to get some shelving for sheets like they have below.

My blog is WONKY

So I got a new computer at work and now when I look at my blog, it looks wonky. The whole right side is chopped off. Has it looked like this the whole time???? This makes me INSANE. Hopefully I will get this resolved soon. In the meantime, I apologize if it has looked like this for a long time. I am no design expert.

I leave you with Gus. And his pool. I want Gus.

Happy Wednesday!

Gluttony at its Best

When I fall off the eating-well wagon, I fall hard. But it was for a good cause. The dual-birthday cause.

This weekend we celebrated two of my dear friend's birthdays. They share a birthday, how cool is that?? These girls...they are crazy. They are fun. Did I mention they are crazy? And I love them dearly. Even if they do wear pink flamingo glasses. And one of them may or may not be obsessed with Robert Pattinson. And I may share that obsession. I digress...

Me with Ms. pink flamingo before she donned her festive glasses. You can't really see it, but her arm candy was BLINGIN' that night.

Peach Mojitos!

Bananas Foster Cheesecake!

And then Sunday morning, I decided to make blueberry pancakes. A Twitter friend challenged me to a Breakfast-Off and who am I to turn down a challenge?

I scarfed. The end.

And now I will be running 5,000 miles this week to undo the damage. As the Countess says, Chic, C'est La Vie, right?

Happy, er...have a good Monday y'all!

According to Him

Thank you everyone for all the support on the half marathon goal! I'm still so nervous but excited too! My friend and I are getting a beach cottage for that weekend and that will be our reward for all of our hard work. We are also signing up for group training runs and so that will be interesting for sure! But a good thing.

I started a Tumblr to document the journey and also for motivation. Follow me here if you like:

Every day I doubt that I can do this...but every day I am also reminded that I CAN. Isn't it funny how sometimes we find inspiration in the craziest things?? When I am running, I listen to all kinds of music. It just depends but a lot of my songs are top radio hits, because they are new and have a good beat to run to. I also spend a lot of time listening to the lyrics.

The other day I ran outside for the first time in months. I was only supposed to run 2 miles, but when I got to the last 5 or so minutes of my run, I could feel the tears piling up in the corners of my eyes. My legs felt like logs. I thought about how in a few short months I'm going to have to run 13.1 miles and if it felt like today, I'd never make it. I was feeling pretty much like a failure and really beating myself up in my head.

Then this silly song came on my Pandora station and I started listening to the lyrics. It's really about a girl comparing her boyfriend to another boy. Apparently her boyfriend tears her down and is not supportive and this other guy is. And as crazy as this may sound, I think in that moment God wanted me to think of these lyrics in terms of Him and how He thinks about me. And how I shouldn't listen to the negative thoughts running through my head at that moment. And so I did. And a funny thing happened. It got me through the end of my run and I felt AWESOME.

According to Him
I'm beautiful,
incredible,
he can't get me out of his head.
According to Him
I'm funny,
irresistible,
everything He ever wanted.
Everything is opposite,
I don't feel like stopping it,
so baby tell me what I got to lose.
He's into me for everything I'm not,
According to Him

Like I said, it's a silly teeny bop song. Laugh if you must. But for me, it worked. And that's what it's all about. Finding inspiration in little things throughout the journey that will ultimately propel you to the finish line.

TGIF & a BIG announcement

Did y'all have a good Fourth? Mine was relatively quiet. I went to the movies with my mom and a few of her girlfriends, which was fun. We saw Larry Crowne and while it wasn't the most riveting movie I've ever seen, it was cute. Julie Roberts wore some awesome dresses in the movie.

I am still loving my Shakeology drinks, and plan to order another month's supply. I can definitely feel an energy boost and last week I lost 2 lbs in my first week of drinking the shakes.

This week I started P90x. I started on Sunday and have done it every day except Wednesday night, where I went to the gym and ran on the treadmill instead. It's a great program and my muscles are definitely feeling the burn. However, now I have something else new to focus on....

I am a little scared to put this out there, but I need to. A friend of mine has convinced me to train with her and another friend for a half marathon. In November. I'm terrified. I only have 3.5 months to do this. The most I have ever run to date is 5 miles. I have a little work to do, no? So if anyone needs me for the next few months, I'm probably going to be a little bit busy. Running. And running some more. And trying not to throw up at the thought of running 13.1 miles. Someone hold me.

Have any of you run a half mary? If so, how long did you train? Any advice? Shaaare with me.

Cheers to Friday my peeps! I snapped this picture on the 4th of July. I was sitting outside on my porch, sipping wine, watching the fireworks pop around me and celebrating America the Beautiful.

TGIF!
